Main Text: Ephesians 5:18 (NIV) – “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.”

INTRODUCTION
Some of us are full of opinions, stress, or drama. But spiritually, what are you full of?
Because whatever fills you will eventually come out of you.

POINT 1: You Are Full of Something

  • Luke 6:45: “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”
  • Life’s “bumps” reveal what’s inside us—anger, fear, pride, or peace.
  • Being filled with God’s presence means praise, peace, and prophecy come out when life shakes us.
  • Application: What fills you determines your response under pressure.

POINT 2: What You’re Full Of Determines What You Produce

  • Galatians 5:19–23 contrasts the acts of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit.
  • Flesh includes selfish ambition, jealousy, fits of rage—often hidden but destructive.
  • Spirit produces love, joy, peace, kindness, self-control, and more.
  • You can’t bear fruit if you feed on “worldly garbage.”
  • John 15:5 reminds us, “If you remain in me… you will bear much fruit.”
  • Application: Evaluate what you’re feeding your spirit daily.

POINT 3: You Choose What Fills You

  • Ephesians 5:18 is a command, not a suggestion: be filled with the Spirit.
  • Filling with the Spirit is personal, intentional—not accidental.
  • You choose what you consume: media, conversations, thoughts.
  • You cannot be full of fear and faith at the same time—one will dominate.
  • The Spirit won’t compete for space—empty yourself to be filled.
  • Application: What are you pumping into your soul right now?

POINT 4: When You’re Full of the Spirit, God Can Use You Fully

  • Acts 6:3: The apostles chose men “full of the Spirit and wisdom,” not just talent or popularity.
  • God fills you not just to bless you but to flow through you.
  • Examples: Stephen preaching boldly, Peter’s sermon leading to 3,000 saved, Jesus led by the Spirit.
  • Application: God wants to fill you to empower and send you.

CLOSING
What are you full of?
If it’s sin, fear, or bitterness, God can cleanse and renew you.
But first, you must empty yourself.
