Text: John 9:1–41
Theme: Jesus opens both physical and spiritual eyes.
Focus: Spiritual blindness and true vision.

Introduction:
Imagine never seeing light or color—living in total darkness. In John 9, Jesus meets a man blind from birth. But this story is about more than physical sight—it’s about spiritual blindness and the power of Jesus to open our eyes.

1. God Can Bring Purpose Out of Pain

  • Disciples ask who sinned to cause the blindness.
  • Jesus redirects from blame to purpose: “This happened so God’s works might be displayed.”
  • Our struggles can be platforms for God’s glory, not punishment.
  • Application: Are you in a dark season? God can use it for His glory.

2. Healing Happens Through Obedience

  • Jesus makes mud, puts it on the man’s eyes, and tells him to wash in the pool of Siloam.
  • The man obeys without seeing the outcome first.
  • Obedience leads to breakthrough even before we see it.
  • Application: What is God asking you to do in faith today?

3. Religion Can’t Handle Radical Transformation

  • Pharisees reject the healing because Jesus healed on the Sabbath.
  • They prioritize tradition over the miracle.
  • True transformation often meets resistance from religion or comfort zones.
  • Application: Don’t let others’ disbelief stop you from walking in freedom.

4. Testimony Is Stronger Than Theology

  • The healed man says, “I was blind, but now I see,” despite lacking full theological answers.
  • Personal testimony can break through skepticism.
  • Application: Share what God has done in your life boldly.

5. Jesus Reveals True Vision

  • Jesus reveals Himself as the Son of Man to the healed man, who believes and worships Him.
  • The spiritually blind are those who refuse to see Jesus’ truth.
  • Jesus declares, “I came so the blind will see, and those who see will become blind.”
  • Application: True sight comes from a heart open to Jesus.

Conclusion: Now I See
The man went from blind beggar to healed believer. Jesus opens eyes—physically and spiritually. Today is the day to say, “I once was blind, but now I see.”
Altar Call: For those ready to surrender, obey, and see Jesus for who He is.
