Main Text: 2 Timothy 1:5; Matthew 6:19-20; Deuteronomy 6:6–9

Introduction

📖 “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15
Good morning and Happy Father’s Day!

Now, I know this day can stir different emotions. Some celebrate, some feel pain or absence, some carry the weight of fatherhood, some hold it down solo, and some wonder if their story will ever include this chapter.

Wherever you are on that spectrum, God calls each of us—man or woman, young or old—to leave a legacy of faith. Not just memories or money, but a legacy that lasts beyond us and echoes into eternity.

(Dad joke) — “I used to play bass by ear… but now I use my hands.”

Point 1: A Godly Legacy Begins with Genuine Faith

📖 “I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” — 2 Timothy 1:5

Timothy’s faith came from the legacy of two women before him. Your faith influences those after you. Ladies, your spiritual impact is powerful. And dads, your role is critical.

Stats:

  • If only mom goes to church, 15% of kids stay.
  • If dad goes, 55% stay—even if mom doesn’t.
  • If both attend, 72% stay.

Dads, your faith presence makes a massive difference.

Application:
Pray at dinner.
Bring your family to church.
Worship openly.
Speak faith confidently.

You’re raising the next generation of worshippers—a legacy no enemy can undo!

Point 2: A Godly Legacy Is More Than Inheritance—It’s Investment

đź“– “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth… but store up treasures in heaven.” — Matthew 6:19-20

Legacy isn’t just money or possessions—though stewardship there is wise—it’s what you leave in people.

Kids need your prayers, your example, your faith more than your bank account.
Legacy is built by daily, intentional choices—every prayer, every moment of integrity, every conversation.

It’s never too late to start building a godly legacy—even if you didn’t have one modeled for you.

Point 3: A Godly Legacy Is Taught, Caught, and Lived Out

đź“– “Impress [God’s commands] on your children… when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” — Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Legacy is everyday discipleship—not just Sunday mornings.

Kids learn faith by watching you:

  • Forgive others.
  • Worship through hard times.
  • Choose honesty.
  • Speak life, not gossip.

Legacy isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence and real faith lived out.

Application for Everyone

  • Fathers: Your consistent presence speaks louder than words.
  • Mothers: Like Eunice and Lois, you keep faith alive in families.
  • Single adults: Your example matters deeply to spiritual sons and daughters.
  • Elders: Your wisdom is vital for the generations coming behind you.
  • Youth: You don’t have to wait—start honoring God now and grow deep roots.

Conclusion: It’s Not Too Late to Start

Maybe you feel you’ve made mistakes or your family is broken. Good news—God is a Redeemer!
He breaks generational curses, heals brokenness, and can help you build a legacy you never had.

Your legacy starts now.

📖 “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15

This is more than a slogan—it’s a declaration and a decision to build something eternal starting today.
