Sermon Summary: “Right Here, Right Now”
Scripture Focus: Matthew 6:34 (NIV)
In a world filled with worry and uncertainty, Jesus commands us not to be consumed by tomorrow’s troubles but to focus on what God is doing right here, right now. The enemy wants to trap us in yesterday’s regrets or tomorrow’s fears, but God calls us to live in the present, where His presence and power are available.
1. Stop Borrowing Tomorrow’s Trouble
Jesus tells us not to carry the weight of tomorrow’s worries. Anxiety robs us of seeing God’s hand in today. Instead of stressing over what hasn’t happened yet, we should trust God’s provision for each day. Challenge: What are you carrying that God never asked you to?
2. The Power of Presence
Psalm 46:10 reminds us to “Be still and know that I am God.” We often miss God’s presence because we’re too distracted. True peace comes when we slow down and make room for Him in our daily lives.
3. Yesterday is Over, Tomorrow is God’s
We can’t change the past or control the future, but we can trust the One who holds both. Philippians 3:13 urges us to forget what is behind and press forward. Stop trying to rewrite what God has already redeemed—His mercies are new every morning.
4. God is the God of Now
God introduced Himself as “I AM” (Exodus 3:14), meaning He is the God of the present moment. He isn’t waiting for us to have everything figured out—He wants to meet us where we are, right now.
Conclusion: Seize the Moment
The best way to prepare for tomorrow is to obey God today.
