Sermon Summary: “From Resolution to Restoration”

Text: Ruth 1:8-18, Ruth 2:2,7, Ruth 2:8-9, Ruth 4:13,17

As we enter 2025, many of us desire change—but true transformation comes not from temporary resolutions, but from lasting commitment to God. Ruth’s journey from brokenness to blessing teaches us how commitment leads to restoration.

1. Change Starts with a Commitment to Follow God
Ruth faced a crossroad and chose to leave her past behind, committing fully to God: “Your people will be my people, and your God my God” (Ruth 1:16). Her decision was more than a resolution—it was life-changing. Likewise, real change happens when we commit fully to following God, even when it’s uncomfortable.

2. Blessings Follow Commitment
Ruth took action in faith, stepping out to glean in the fields. Her faithfulness positioned her for favor, as Boaz noticed her and provided protection and provision. God honors commitment with His blessing—when we step out in faith, He meets us with His grace.

3. Commitment Leads to Transformation
Ruth’s story didn’t just change her circumstances—it transformed her destiny. She became part of the lineage of King David and ultimately, Jesus Christ. Our commitment to God has the power to impact generations, bringing restoration beyond what we can imagine.

Conclusion: From Resolutions to Restoration
This year, will you move beyond shallow resolutions and make a true commitment to God? Just as He restored Ruth, He desires to restore and transform your life. Step out in faith, commit fully, and watch God do the impossible.
